The Elsewhere

The museum's public collection departs from a bias we have never fully resolved: it begins with names already known in our universe. The Elsewhere corrects this. Here, the starting point is you — a person who exists in our world without particular fame — and the question the museum asks on your behalf is: who are you, elsewhere?

Each work in this floor was commissioned by a visitor. The museum identified their counterpart in a parallel universe — an artist unknown to us but significant there — and acquired one of their works for the collection. The commissioners' identities are known to the museum. The artists' are on the walls below.
